The world-class ensemble Kammerorchester Basel, conducted by Jessica Horsley, will play works by Giorgio Colombo Taccani (world premiere), Junghae Lee (Swiss premiere) and Heidi Baader-Nobs in the in the next installment of JessTalks.
On 1st February in the Musikschule in Riehen (in German) and on 2nd February in the Druckereihalle im Ackermannshof, Basel (in English and German) JessTalks will be taking a fresh look at new music.

The orchestral work for this year’s festival was written by Swiss composer Heidi Baader-Nobs with Mariana Doughty as viola soloist.
The interactive concert for school children in Münchenstein near Basel with actress Barbara Schneebeli was one of many great moments of the Festival frauenkomponiert 2018.
According to the critic Sigfried Schibli in his review of the orchestral concert in Bern, the piece has, “the most important quality for an overture: it makes you want to hear more!”.
It was a great pleasure for me and for the orchestra to rehearse and perform Alma Deutscher’s violin concerto with her as part of the Festival frauenkomponiert 2018.
It’s encouraging and impressive to see how the project has grown since 2014/15 and that Basel has become a centre of music by women composers.
