Welcome

Conducting is simply the most exciting and challenging thing in this world. It demands every facet of your musicality to the utmost – your brain, your heart, your sense of body, your communication and social skills, your spirituality, your groundedness – to lead the players and to find with them an interpretation that is both true to the composer’s intention and right for the here and the now. Stunning.
After the enormous sound-world of the orchestra, feeling fragile gut under my fingers and coaxing it to sing means coming home.
And research? Research means staying alert and staying alive. How can we be here without searching, and re-searching?
