The first Basel Viol Day combines lectures, workshops and a concert to offer an interesting and entertaining day for all viol aficionados. Giovanni Baviera will be offering insight into playing the viol and singing simultaneously, Günther von Zadov will be talking about new discoveries of works by Bach, Abel und Lidl, and Pia Pircher will be looking at viol music after the death of Marin Marais. At the evening concert we’ll be playing virtuoso works for Renaissance consort.
