The new issue of the Kapralova Society Journal, vol. 14, issue 1 (Spring 2016) is now online. It includes an interview with Jessica Horsley on conducting and the Czech composer, Vítĕzslava Kaprálová. Despite dying so young, Kaprálová composed many major orchestral works and she was also a fine conductor, conducting the UK’s BBC Symphony Orchestra at an age that would be a sensation even today. Her works are all too rarely performed though and really deserve more exposure.
